Website Guide - Site and Tree Navigation
10 August 2016

Here we give you some help understanding the features of this website and navigating it. First we'll start with the Home page you likely are looking at:

Pages navigation bar: The horizontal navigation bar below appears on every web page other than the Home Page (shown above).

The Search feature:

The Individual Page : The Individual Page is the heart of the system so to speak. An Individual Page is focused on one person in the tree. See image below.

The individual page has eight tabs for presenting data on the individual and their relationships, some of which include charts: Individual, Family, Ancestors, Descendants, Relationship, Timeline, GEDCOM, and Suggest. The Individual, Family, Ancestors, Descendants tabs each have different views for looking at the data.

The Individual tab (shown below) contains the data for an individual as well as shows their relationships, has links to photos and documents in Albums, and listing of detailed data sources used to assemble the individual's genealogical data.

The Family tab contains a tree chart for the individual that shows his parents, siblings, spouse and their parents and children.

The various views on the Ancestors tab show the Subject’s ancestral (pedigree) tree in various forms such as charts and reports..

The various views on the Descendants tab show the Subject’s spouse and descendant tree in various forms such as charts and reports..

You can use the Relationship tab to calculate and graphically show the Subject’s relationship to another person in the tree.

The result of the Relationship calculation.

With the GEDCOM tab you can create a GEDCOM file containing the genealogical data (no images or documents) for use in building your own family tree. For more information on the GEDCOM data file format and its uses see GEDCOMs Explained and What is GEDCOM?.
